I can use binoculars...
This conversation took place when E was 3+. I still remember it so I better jot it down before I completely forgot about it. This is the sort of priceless thing that you wouldn't want to ever forget...
We were having our dinner (or lunch, I forgot which) and I was pushing E to eat the vegetables, most of them were carrots.
B: E, you need to finish eating these carrots. They are good for your eyes.
E: But my eyes are good.
B: Yes. But if you don't eat carrots, when you get bigger your eyes will become bad like my eyes and you have to put contact lenses in your eyes like me. Otherwise, you cannot see far far away.
I've shown E many times before how 'scary' putting contact lenses in the eyes can be, and E didn't like it and thought it was hurtful to put them in the eyes.
Then E spontaneously replied,
E: But B, if I want to see far far away, I can just use binoculars.
I was just stunned and don't know what to say next. I showed E once how what binoculars are and how to use them. If you flip one way, you can see far away, and flip the other way, things that you see become smaller. I guess E just remembered all these and know how to 'practically' apply this knowledge in that situation.
